First year of college

  • Child Development 1 and 2 : Through this course we examine the main theories, topics, and techniques used to investigate child development.

  • Wellness for Children : Examine the nutrition, safety, and health of children in child care settings. In early learning settings, students will examine infection control practises and legal requirements.

  • Introduction to ECE Practices : provide students with a theoretical, practical, and political understanding of early childhood education. The needs of children, families, and educators will be taken into consideration as various forms of early learning and care are studied.

  • Guidance Of The Young Child:Recognizing the value of all interactions that foster children's growth, their sense of self, and encourage pro-social behaviour is essential to this job. Within diverse theoretical frameworks, the philosophical foundations of responsive and genuine interactions will be investigated.

  • Observing The Young Child  In the early childhood setting, observation is a crucial aspect influencing the decision-making processes. The concepts and techniques of observation are covered in this course. Understanding children's needs and interests will influence pedagogy, curriculum, and child guidance tactics. Observation and recording skills will help. By applying theoretical knowledge to actual actions and decisions for kids in the early learning and care environment, students will get a deeper grasp of child development and behaviour.

Second year of college

Early Childhood Educators are aware of the important contributions families make to the child care facility. Families' dual function as a resource and a client will be investigated.

LEARNING STORY
A "learning story" or "learning story" is a descriptive and reflective narrative about the experiences and learning of a child or a group of children it. These stories focus on what the child is doing, thinking, and feeling during an activity, rather than just what is happening.

During this activity we learned that Learning stories are an important tool in the early childhood education classroom because they allow educators to:
  • Observe and document children's learning in real time.
  • Reflect on what children are seeing and learning, and consider how they can improve the teaching and learning experience.
  • Communicate children's progress and achievements to parents and caregivers.
  • Provide children with an opportunity to reflect on their own learning and build their self-esteem and confidence.

Through the writing of learning stories, educators can help children build their own knowledge and understanding of the world around them, while at the same time providing in-depth insight into how children are developing in different learning areas. Additionally, these stories allow educators to plan and adjust their teaching to meet the needs of each child in the classroom. I build this learning story on my second semester of my first year of college

DOCUMENTATION PANEL

By creating a documentation panel for a children's activity I learned a number of things, including:

  • Close Observation: we should carefully observe children as they participate in an activity and document what they see on the documentation board.
  • This detailed observation can help educators identify children's interests, abilities,
  • Reflection and analysis: By reviewing the notes and images that have been documented on the panel, we can reflect on how the activity has unfolded, what has and has not worked well, and how they might improve the activity in the future.
  • Effective Communication: The documentation board is an effective way to communicate children's progress and learning goals to parents and caregivers. By showing pictures and detailed notes about what children have been doing and learning, we can show how children have been developing in different areas of learning.
Overall, the documentation pnael can be a powerful tool for children's learning and development, as well as for the professional development and improvement of ECE practices. I wrote this document on my second semester of my first year of college.

NEWSLETTER
I did  a newsletter for the classroom tking in to consideration the relevant information that should be share with the parents; The newsletter can be a useful tool as well to keep parents and caregivers informed about children's activities, projects, and reminders. For this activitiy we learned some ways in which the newsletter can be used, and those are:
  • Share updates on classroom lessons and activities,.
  • Provide tips and strategies for learning at home, to support parents in the development and education of their children.
  • Communicate upcoming events or important dates, such as school vacations or theme holidays.

Overall, the newsletter can be an effective way to keep parents and caregivers engaged and connected to their child's education in the early childhood classroom.Regenerate response. This activity was done in our last semester of college

PARENT BULLETIN BOARD

The parent bulletin board is a communication tool that helps both staff and parents. This will let parents be informed of what happens daily inside the classroom and the most updated information; It has many benefits, such as preventing emergency allergies or disclosure of children's pictures in the classroom without consent, helps parents be prepared and attend events, and encourage a close relationship between parents and staff. Parents will feel more secure and involved knowing the organizational landscape within the classroom.

In general we did the bulletin board with pastel colors, we chose light blue, pink and peach, the frame is light brown and we added some stickers and some decorations around the frame in that way we could highlight the information that is in the middle, we also included a ticker to indicate that cell phones are not allowed inside the room so that parents can be aware of it, we chose large fonts for the topic and black font for each of the sections to make it easier to read, we made it both eye-catching for children and parents. This activity was done in our last semester of college

As we can see, there is a lot of relevant information that can be obtained by looking at the parent bulletin board, it is a visual way to capture the attention of parents and be able to include them, in addition to maintaining good communication between staff and them. It is something simple, striking, approachable, informative and we consider that it is necessary and it should be found in every educational centers.
