EDUCATORS
My principles and views as an educator, along with my educational background, have given me a well-rounded perspective on the key elements to incorporate into early learning and care.
In my opinion, early education should be a happy experience, all children should feel loved and respected. I have noticed that children react most positively when their environment and activities meet the needs and interests of both the group as a whole and of each child. When programming we should foster a sense of community, and good relations among others, while being in an all-inclusive environment, we should always encourage them to use play to investigate their surroundings and satisfy their innate curiosity.
The educator has a variety of roles within the classroom, among which I would like to mention would be to ensure the safety, health, and emotional well-being of each child without exception, as well as to maintain the confidentiality of all the information that has to do with children, discover and have children learn their interests, personalities, and needs. Also, identify risk factors such as signs of child abuse and make the appropriate call to the authorities, in addition to consistently demonstrating an inclusive environment and respect for diversity where no one is excluded. They fulfill the role of ensuring that all regulations are met, as well as providing the necessary help so that all children learn and meet their goals; each of these roles must be fulfilled with love, respect, dedication, and vocation.
I understand and am conscious of their well-being, growth, and requirements, that is why I will make sure that children are well cared for in a high-quality environment, for this, we have to create a healthy relationship with families and caregivers, we have to work as a team to give the child the proper education and support, so they can develop their maximum potential.
Some things that educators follow are:
- Have a good rapport with the students: It's crucial to establish a good relation with the students in the classroom. Maintain a culture of trust and safety by being respectful and compassionate.
- Being a Role Model: We as ECEs need to be positive role models for their students. To help them engage with others, educate them social and emotional skills and be sure to model acceptable and positive behaviour.
- Encourage independence in children: It's critical to promote independence in kids from an early age. Make sure to provide them the chance to take care of themselves by promoting independent judgement and problem-solving.
- Clarity of communication is crucial when dealing with both parents and children. Make
careful to establish clear expectations and to be honest and open about
the children's needs as well as the learning process.
- Being an Ever-Learning Person: Being a lifelong learner is vital for early childhood educators.Keep abreast of the most recent developments in early childhood education practise and research, and keep an eye out for opportunities for professional development.

I believe that the best
way a child learns is through games/activities and social interactions, as well
as by exposing them to things that happen in real life. These activities should
include visual stimuli such as photographs, videos, and images, as well as
sounds such as songs, audio, melodies, etc. Another thing that activities
should include would be manipulative objects so that children can learn by
touching materials, moving things, and through their senses. When using fun
activities for children to learn, children will not see it as one task, and
they will unconsciously understand and achieve their goals even if they do not
feel it is a challenge or something impossible. When they see it as another
challenge, children often feel intimidated, which can affect their education.
Learning while playing enriches not only their education but also their social
and communication skills.
- Effective Communication: Effective communication is key to establishing and maintaining strong relationships with the families of the children in your classroom. Be sure to communicate regularly with families, whether through newsletters, emails, conferences, or in-person meetings. Listen to their concerns and comments and respond in a timely and respectful manner.
- Collaboration: Collaboration between early childhood educators and families is essential to ensure children's success in the classroom. Fosters collaboration by including families in program planning and evaluation, encouraging them to participate in school activities and events, and seeking opportunities to work together on child development.
- Cultural Respect: As an early childhood educator, it is important to be aware of and respectful of the cultural differences of the families of the children in your classroom. Make sure that your practices and programs respect and value families' cultures and beliefs, and consider how you can adapt the program to meet each child's cultural needs.
- Sensitivity to individual needs: Each child in your classroom has unique needs. As an early childhood educator, it is important to be sensitive to each child's individual needs and work with families to ensure that their needs are met. This may involve tailoring the program to meet a child's specific needs or working with families to gain additional support in specific areas.
- Confidentiality: Confidentiality is important when working with families of children in the classroom. Be sure to get consent from families before sharing personal or medical information, and to keep the information confidential and secure.
ENVIROMENT
- Knowing the needs of children: As an ECE, it is important to have a solid understanding of child development and the specific needs of children in early childhood. This will help you create an environment that meets their emotional, social, and cognitive needs.Create a safe environment: Safety is the top priority in an early childhood classroom. Make sure the classroom is free of hazards, that toys and materials are in good repair, and that children are supervised at all times.
- Encourage collaboration: In an early childhood classroom, it is important to encourage collaboration among children. This can help develop social and emotional skills, as well as encourage learning.
- Promote Communication: Communication is essential in an early childhood setting. You need to communicate regularly with parents and carers, as well as with children, to make sure they are getting the care and support they need.
Adapt to individual needs: Children in early childhood have different needs and abilities, so it is important to adapt your approach to meet these needs. Be sure to provide activities and materials that are suitable for each individual child. - Promote Learning: As an ECE, it is your responsibility to promote learning in the classroom. Provide activities and materials that stimulate curiosity and exploration, and create an environment that encourages children to learn and discover new things.
PROGRAM/ CURRICULUM
- Encourage learning through play: In early childhood, play is an important tool for learning. Make sure the program and curriculum include play activities that promote learning and the development of social and emotional skills.
- Promote exploration and curiosity: Children are constantly learning through exploration and curiosity. Make sure the program and curriculum encourage exploration and curiosity through activities that involve creativity and problem solving.
- Involve parents and carers: It is important to involve parents and carers in the development of the program and curriculum. Make sure there is clear communication about the goals and methodology of the program and that parents feel involved in their children's learning process.
- Evaluate and adjust the program and curriculum: It is important to regularly evaluate the program and curriculum to make sure they are working effectively. If something isn't working, adjust the program and curriculum to fit the needs of the children and the classroom.
- Know the rules and standards: It is
important to know the national and local rules and standards for early
childhood education in your area. This will help you develop a program
and curriculum that meets legal and regulatory requirements.
- Consider Child Development: It is important to consider child development when developing a program and curriculum. Make sure the activities and materials are appropriate for the age and developmental level of the children in your classroom
